As the government have said it will always remain as a rail corridor, no matter what, that being the case why risk spending upwards of $60 million when transport faced with decarbonisation it could be needed in the very near future due to the restructuring of the entire sector happening at this very moment.
Transport going into the future, as well as the rest of the infrastructure that supports our local community, far outweighs the wants of cyclists demanding huge amounts of tax payers money being directed into this not only very selfish but wasteful exercise.
A bike track between Armidale and Glenn Innes goes absolutely no where in overcoming the important concerns facing the tens of thousands of residents living in the region and until Armidale Regional Council and GISC comes to its senses with this cop out direction people will continue to sell up and go elsewhere.
